1. SCEWC Barcelona 5-7 NOV recap 🇪🇸

At the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) held in Barcelona from November 5-7, 2024, Citymind was honored to be part of the Czech Republic's most significant official delegation in the past decade.

The Czech pavilion showcased the nation's commitment to smart solutions and urban innovation. This collaborative effort brought together five key ministries—Industry and Trade, Regional Development, Transport, Environment, and Foreign Affairs—alongside the cities of Prague, Brno, and Pilsen. The pavilion featured 26 innovative Czech startups, SMEs, and academic institutions, highlighting the country's growing influence in the smart city sector. (cityforthefuture.com, 2024)

2. Webinar: How to implement AI in public administration
‍ Citymind marked an exciting milestone with their very first webinar, hosted in collaboration with renowned Arrows ETL. The session explored how AI is transforming public administration, featuring insights from our CMO Martin Mikulášek and JINAG or here as part of a Mgr. Alice Dajčarová, LL.M., MSc, attorney at law at Arrows ETL. Together, they covered practical applications of AI in simplifying administrative processes through AI Agents, the implications of the AI Act, and the development of internal AI guidelines for public offices. It was an engaging and insightful discussion about the future of smarter, more efficient public services.

3. Municipalities 4.0 conference: revolutionizing public administration with AI
In this month’s highlight, our CMO Martin Mikulášek took the stage at the Municipalities 4.0: revolutionizing public administration with AI. Organized by the Association of Local Governments of the Czech Republic (SMS) in partnership with the Central Bohemian Innovation Centre (SIC) and CTU, the event tackled the future of municipal services powered by AI. Our presentation explored the potential of AI agents in transforming public authorities and institutions, offering a glimpse into how these innovations might soon shape the way we interact with municipal services. Exciting developments are on the horizon! 👀

4. AI Awards 21.11.2024 🇨🇿
This years AI Awards were a unique event featuring a record number of nominees, and we are truly honored that Citymind was nominated in the "AI in Public Administration" category.

The AI Awards 2024, held on November 21 at Prague's Vzlet Cultural Center, celebrated outstanding contributions to artificial intelligence in the Czech Republic. Among the highlights was the Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Tomáš Mikolov, a leading AI researcher at CIIRC CTU and an ELLIS Fellow, for his groundbreaking work in self-supervised learning, foundational to large language models.

The event also underscored the importance of integrating wisdom and ethical considerations into AI development and application. It served as a powerful reminder that AI must not only be intelligent but also wise, with human oversight playing a critical role in ensuring these technologies serve the greater good.
